Basic Sentence Patterns in Bahasa Indonesia

According to my point of view, sentence means series of meaningful words which can be used to transfer ideas, thought, feeling, and etc. Generally, the basic sentence elements in bahasa Indonesia may consist of subject, predicate, object, and complement.

Basic Sentence Patterns in Bahasa Indonesia

Subject Predicate

This sentence pattern consists of subject and predicate. The subject can be person (singular or plural) while predicate can be verb, noun, adjective, and numerical. Let's see some examples below.

Basic sentence pattern subject predicate object (SPO) consists of subject, predicate, and object. Subject of this type of sentence pattern can be noun or noun phrase, predicate can be transitive verb, and object can be noun or noun phrase.

Subject Predicate Complement

Basic sentence pattern subject + predicate + complement consists of subject, predicate, and complement. Subject of this type of sentence pattern can be noun or noun phrase, predicate can be intransitive verb or adjective, and complement can be noun or adjective.

Teman saya (pergi) masuk kedalam
